A Naval Officer takes a long strange trip to the Desert.

Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, It's off to the desert I go...

Well not quite yet,
We have one week of training in the bag, and three left to go. This week should be fairly mundane. Still have a number of personal errands to attend to, as well. It should keep me busy at the very least. I will try my best to keep this page up to date over the next year, so that my friends and family can keep tabs on what's going on.
We really don't know a whole lot about our jobs or where we are deploying to, and probably won't until we get there. I am bracing for a bit of culture shock once we start training with the Army. It will definitely be interesting. I have had MRE's in the past, and liked them well enough. I don't know what it's going to be like to eat them for extended periods, but, Navy chow isn't something to be missed, so I might not even notice the difference.
Anyway, Be well.
More to follow...

Hey Jason,

I got your blog from your mom who I work with. I just wanted you to know that she is very proud of you and so am I. Thanks for being brave enough to be over there. I told your mom today I cannot imagine having my son over there. She is a tough cookie though. And always know that your efforts are 100% supported. Each night I always ask God to watch over all of our soldiers. May God keep you safe while you are there Jason.
Take care.

Peg
